About Rotary

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it Fair to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Is it BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

These are the four guiding principals upheld by Rotary International. Known as the Four-Way Test, it is a series of questions that Rotary applies to all its endeavors to ensure that they are constantly promoting positive, lasting change in the community.

With over 1.2 million members, Rotary International is a global service organization that is dedicated to helping individuals and communities make a better, brighter future for the world we live in. With over 27,000 service clubs serving on all different levels from high school to adulthood, Rotary has made monumental advances in the global community. Their help in the fight against polio has resulted in near eradication of the disease, and constant work to create lasting, positive change in the world is truly inspiring.

One of their many services is the Rotary Youth Exchange program. This program is dedicated to sending young people out into the world to advance their understanding of different cultures and promote international friendships and understanding. There are over 8,000 youth who participate in this program, venturing to a different country, and experiencing cultural emersion for up to a year. Students are given the opportunity to live with a variety of host families and attend a local high school in their host country. With over 30 participating countries, students from all around the world are given the chance to experience an entirely new culture, learn a new language, develop communication skills, and gain a greater understanding for the world they live in.
